Do I need to register my company annually with Companies House?

0

Hi, I’ve got a question about company formation. I have just incorporated a company limited by shares through a company formation agent. My papers have come through, and I understand that’s more or less me ready to trade. My only question is whether this is an annual thing. Do I need to re-register my company through Companies House every single year? Or is incorporation a one-off deal? Thank you.

You only need to register your company once. It will remain in existence until you choose to formally dissolve it. Whilst there is no need to incorporate your company every year, you do have other annual requirements, including:

  • Filing an annual return at Companies House
  • Preparing annual accounts for Companies House and HMRC
  • Preparing a Company Tax Return for HMRC (if your company is trading)
  • Paying Corporation Tax to HMRC.

I hope this helps!
