What documents do I need to form a company?

1

Greetings, all.

I am getting ready to form a new company for a web business I have started (it’s very exciting, but I won’t try and plug the idea before I’m actually up and running). Anyway, I know I’ve got to file an application through Companies House so that I’m official, but I was just wondering if you all know what documents I will need to send them? I am just curious so that I’ve got everything at hand when I finally sit down to get started.

Best wishes

There is no need to send any physical documentation to Companies House if you register through a company formation agent because everything is done online. Here is a list of the details you will need to provide on your application:

  • Company name.
  • Supporting documentation if your company name contains any ‘sensitive’ words - you can send this is an attachment or upload a scanned copy of the original document.
  • Registered office address.
  • Shareholder’s name and contact address.
  • Director’s’ info:
    • Title and full name
    • Nationality
    • Date of Birth
    • Occupation
    • Service address
    • Home address
  • Articles of association - you can choose to adopt the standard articles from Companies House, so there is no need for you create and attach this document yourself.
  • Information about the shares you want to issue - quantity, type, value.

You will need your debit or credit card to hand to pay for your registration. That’s really all there is to it!
