Can an undischarged bankrupt be the director of a limited company in the UK?

0

Hello,

I have a really great idea for a business that I think could be very lucrative, but I’ve had some financial issues recently because I was made redundant and couldn't keep up my mortgage and credit card payments. I had to declare myself bankrupt 2 months ago, so I think I’m classed as an undischarged bankrupt - is that correct? And if so, am I permitted to register a limited company?

Thanks in advance,

You cannot be a limited company director, or be involved in running or promoting a limited company in any other official capacity, if you are an undischarged bankrupt unless permission is granted by the court.

You also cannot be appointed as a director if you are under the age of 16, the auditor of that company or a disqualified director.
