Do dormant companies file annual accounts?

0

I am the sole director of a limited by shares company, and I would like to set up a new dormant company. What I do not know is how reporting and accounting requirements differ. Could you please tell me whether dormant companies must file annual accounts, despite the fact that they are technically not trading at all?

Yes, dormant companies must prepare dormant accounts for Companies House each year, as well as an annual return, but they do not have to file statutory annual accounts or Companies Tax Returns with HMRC if they have remained dormant throughout their entire accounting period.
