Do I need to inform Companies House if I want my company to stop trading?

I would like to stop my company from trading. A bit of a cold turkey move, if you take my meaning. If I want to do it, do I need to tell Companies House? Or will they just know by my company’s lack of trading?

There is no requirement to inform Companies House that you plan to stop trading through your limited company - they will find out when you file dormant accounts instead of normal annual accounts.

The filing deadline for your accounts will remain exactly the same - within 9 months of your accounting reference date.
