Can a non-trading company continue to buy and sell products?

Hi - my company is officially not trading. But an opportunity has come up to unload some goods that the company is sitting on. Can I sell these goods and still technically count as a non-trading company? Ta

No - your company will be active if you buy or sell goods. You will have to prepare normal accounts for Companies House and a tax return for HMRC to report the income received from the sale of these goods.

Once you have sold everything you want to get rid of and completed the necessary filing requirements, you can then make your company non-trading or dormant through your local Corporation Tax office.
