Should I register a company as dormant to protect a trademark?

Good evening - I’m curious about dormant companies. I’ve got a trademark that I’m wanting to use as part of a brand for a company I’ve already got. But I’m not ready to associate it with my company yet. So, can I register a company specifically to protect a trademark? Ta

If you have already registered a trademark, you can register a new limited company to protect it as a company name. This will mean that no one else will be able to register a company in the name of your trademark. Once it is registered, you can contact HMRC via your local Corporation Tax office to tell them it has a dormant trading status.

I would also suggest registering your trademark/new company name as a domain name to prevent anyone else from using it as a website address.
