My company is no longer trading. Does that mean it has dissolved?

Good morning! I opened a private limited company a while back, but I have not traded using this company for a while, now. If I’m not trading, does that mean I’m dissolved? Or is that different somehow?

No, your company is simply dormant for the time being. It still exists and you can start trading again any time you please. A company is only dissolved when it is voluntarily or forcibly closed by being struck off the company register. Dissolved companies no longer exist.

Dormant companies still have filing and reporting requirements for Companies House, so you must continue to file an annual return and dormant accounts every year and report any changes.
