How can I set up a company with two directors with an 80:20 split in shares?

Good morning

I need to set up a limited company, and I would like to set it up with two shareholders. One shareholder will have a 20% share in the company, but I want to have 80%, because I will be doing most of the work to develop our business.

How would I do it?

Give yourself 8 ordinary shares and give the other shareholder 2 ordinary shares.

This is fairly easy to do, and you don’t need to use different share classes. What you can do is issue 80 shares and 20 shares, or 8 shares and 2 shares. Both ways amount to an 80:20 split.
