Do I need to tell HMRC my company has dissolved even if it had never traded?

I’m in charge of a dormant company, which I now wish to dissolve. Do I need to tell HMRC that my company has been dissolved, despite the fact that I was never actively trading?

If your company has never traded it should be registered with HMRC as dormant, so you will still have to notify them if you decide to dissolve the company. To do this, you should contact your local Corporation Tax office. You will find their details on any official communication received from HMRC.
