Can I use the word 'Authority' in my company name?

I’d like to use the word “authority” in the name of my new company name. Will Companies House let me do this, do you know? Thank you in advance for your advice, I need all the help I can get!

You can include the word ‘authority’ in your company name. There is no requirement to get approval from anyone because this word is no longer regarded as a sensitive word.

The government brought about changes to the list of sensitive words and expressions in January 2015 by reducing it by one third. These changes to company name restrictions, amongst others, were introduced to make it easier and less time consuming for companies to complete the incorporation process.
