Can a non-UK resident be the guarantor of a limited by guarantee company?

Are there any rules about whether the guarantor of a limited by guarantee company is a resident in the UK? I am a UK citizen and setting up shop in greater Manchester, but my brother knows a lot about the business and I would love for him to step in as a guarantor. The only problem is, he is now a resident of Dubai. Is this an issue, or will I be okay to list him as a guarantor?

Thanks

That’s not a problem. There is no need for the members of a UK company to reside the UK, so you can list your brother as a guarantor. To do so, you must provide Companies House with his full name and contact address. This information will be placed on public record.
