I’d like to set up as a sole trader this week. I know that companies require a registered office to incorporate, so I’m wondering: do I need to have one as a sole trader?
No, sole traders do not require a registered office address. You would only need this type of address if you were registering a limited company or limited liability partnership.
The only address you need to provide for HMRC when setting up as a sole trader is a business contact address. This is where all business communication from HMRC will be delivered to.
