Do I need a certificate of good standing to open a business bank account?

Evening, I need to set up a business bank account. Is that something I am going to need a business bank account to achieve, or would it be a waste of time to acquire one? Thanks for all your help, appreciate it.

A certificate of good standing is not normally required to open a business bank account in the UK, but you will probably be asked to provide one if you are opening a bank account overseas.

I would suggest holding off until you find out what your chosen bank requires, rather than spending money on a certificate that you may not need at the present time.

If your bank does request a certificate, you can get one within 1-5 business days, either directly from Companies House or through Factory Formations. You can find out more about our certificate service here.
