What if I don't want a certificate of good standing?

Hey guys,

I’ve heard a lot of chat about certificates of good standing and how it helps limited companies. It sounds like a lot of hassle to me. What if I don’t want to bother with one? Is that okay?

Hi Alexander,

That’s not a problem, you don’t need to get a certificate of good standing if you don’t want one because it’s not a legal requirement. You may find that someone asks for one in the future - a bank; an existing or potential investor; another business you’re involved with - but, until then, you don’t need to worry about it!

However, if you want to find out a bit more about the purpose and benefit of having a certificate of good standing, take a look here.
