Do I need a solicitor to sign my certificate of good standing?

I need to obtain a certificate of good standing. If I were to do that, would I need to have my company’s solicitor sign it upon receiving it?

Thank you

Toby Hayward

Hi Toby,

You do not have to get your certificate of good standing signed by a solicitor to use it in the UK. It is an official and legal document in its original format.

You will, however, need to get your certificate notorised by a solicitor if you are sending it to an overseas authority. This is known as document legalisation.
