What documents can be Apostilled?

Good morning

I am setting up a UK limited by shares company, and my financial advisor has recommended I consider getting my important company documents apostilled. Could someone please tell me specifically which documents I can get apostilled?

Many Thanks

Hi Harrison,

You can obtain an apostille certificate for almost any UK document that bears an original seal, stamp or signature of a practicing UK official or public organisation, but the most common ones you will need to get legalised for a limited company are:

  • The certificate of incorporation
  • A certificate of change of name
  • The memorandum of association
  • Articles of association
  • Share certificates
  • A certificate of good standing
  • Director’s proof of identification - driving license, birth certificate, passport
  • Company accounts
  • Bank letters
  • Appointment of director forms
  • Any other kind of official company document

If you are in any doubt as to whether or not a document can be legalised, you can check here.
