Does my registered office address need to be a physical address?

I would like to know whether my registered office address needs to be my physical address. That’s because my business is going to be based out of my home for the foreseeable future, but I’m not keen on placing my home on a public register.

Is that possible?

Yes, your registered office must be a physical address in the country where your company is incorporated. You can use your home address but you do not need to. A lot of people prefer to protect their privacy by using a non-residential address as a registered office.

Due to the fact that your business is home based, you should consider buying a professional registered office service with mail forwarding from a company formation agent or alternate address provider. As well as protecting your privacy, it will create a professional and credible business image for your company.
