Can I use someone else's address as my service address?

If I want to register a limited company, it looks like I don’t have a choice but to enter service address details for my directors. Am I allowed to put in somebody else’s contact address rather than my own as a director’s service address?

You can use someone else’s address as a director’s service address as long as your have their permission to do so. This address will be placed on public record so it is not something that everyone will agree to.

If you rent your home, you will need the permission of the landlord or local authority. If you have an accountant, you could ask to use their address for this purpose. Alternatively, you could buy a professional service address with mail forwarding from a company formation agent or address provider.
