Do companies limited by guarantee need a registered office address?

Right! I get that limited by shares companies need a registered office. LLPs probably do, too. But what about limited by guarantee companies? I know they’re exempt from the odd rule here and there. Would one of those exemptions happen to be the need to enter a registered office address when incorporating?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news…. All limited companies require a registered office address, regardless of whether they are private or public, limited by shares or limited by guarantee.

Your registered office address will be displayed on public record and used by Companies House and HMRC for official mailing purposes.
