Will I receive any important mail at my registered office address?

I asked a mate what the point of a registered office address was for a company. He told me it was in case Companies House or the HMRC had to discuss anything serious. What he could not tell me was what those sort of discussions would be. Do you know whether I will actually get any important mail at a registered office? Or is it just all hypothetical that it’s for correspondence purposes?

Hi Henry,

You will receive lots of important mail at your registered office! Sadly, none of it will be very exciting. Companies House and HMRC will send all statutory company mail and legal notices to your registered office address. This includes information about your statutory filing requirements and guidance on registering for business taxes.
