Can I have a UK nominee officer for an overseas company?

Hey, I’ve got an obscure question for you. A mate is getting a company registered overseas, and is wanting to use nominees. He’s asked me to be a nominee director (because, why not?). But the company is based in Dubai, and I am a UK resident. Is that okay?

Company formation legislation is completely different in Dubai so I’m afraid I cannot offer any advice about becoming the director of a company in UAE. I would strongly urge you to speak to a specialist accountant before making any decisions because this could be a potentially complex situation.
