Do I need a SAIL address?

I’ve been a shareholder at two limited companies in the past, and they have both used a SAIL address for company records. I’m setting up shop for myself now, and I would like to know whether it’s a requirement to use a SAIL address. Do I need to have one, or is it just a coincidence that every company I’ve been involved in has used one?

No, not at all. There is no legal requirement for you to use a SAIL address. You would only use a Single Alternative Inspection Location (SAIL) if you wanted to make some or all of your statutory records available for inspection at an address other than your registered office.
