Can I use my residential address as my trading address?

I was thinking about setting up a trading address for my company, but I just wanted to sign up my normal residential address as my trading address. Can you advise whether this is recommended/allowed?

Yes, you can use your residential address as the trading address of your limited company. This address does not have to be registered with Companies House so it will not be placed on public record, but you will have to display it on your website to enable your clients and other professional contacts to get in touch with you.

However, the use of a residential address may result in unsolicited mail being delivered to your home. If you are not keen on that idea, you would be better to buy a business address service with mail forwarding. Not only will this create a more professional image for your business, it will allow you to have your mail forwarded to your home address.
