Do I need to inform Companies House of my trading address?

We are going to set up a trading address for our limited company. Is this something we need to tell Companies House about when we go through with the change, or will they automatically know about it?

No, you do not have to give your trading address details to Companies House because this type of address is not a matter of public record. You only have to provide them with a registered office address for your company and a service for each director.

Trading addresses are used for general business contacts like clients, banks and lenders, suppliers and service providers, accountants and HMRC.

When you set up your new trading address, be sure to tell all of your contacts (other than Companies House) and display the address details on your website and business correspondence. You can update your trading address details with HMRC online.
