What is Companies House WebCHeck service?

Afternoon all

Hey, I have a query. What is Companies House WebCHeck? Does anybody know? I can’t find a reasonable explanation online. Thanks!

Companies House WebCHeck is a searchable company names and address index. This online service is available to the public free of charge and there is no need to register to use it, unless you are downloading documents. You can search for an existing or dissolved company by name or registration number, and you can use the facility to check the availability of a proposed company name.

The following company details and documents can be accessed through WebCHeck:

  • Basic company information - company name and registration number, registered office address, company status and type.
  • Nature of the business (SIC codes)
  • Date of last filed accounts and annual return
  • Due date of next accounts and return
  • Previous company names and the dates of changes
  • Current and resigned officer details
  • Disqualified directors search
  • Details of any UK Establishments or Overseas Companies associated with a company
  • Fast document download service
  • Monitor service to receive alerts about a company

Basic company information is free but you will have to pay £1 per document download. You will be required to register an account if you wish to download documents. To do so, you will be asked to provide an email address and create a password.
