Can a company limited by guarantee open a business bank account?

I am in charge of a new non-profit organisation in Lincoln. We have set up as a limited by guarantee company, and now I need to get my head round the type of business bank account a limited by guarantee company is actually allowed to set up. Please help!

Your company can set up any kind of bank account that is most suitable for your business needs. Most banks provide specific accounts for non-profit organisations. These are sometimes referred to as Treasurer’s accounts or Community accounts and they usually provide free banking. This guide may be useful for you.

There are also certain banks that deal specifically with non-profit organisations. These include the Charities Aid Bank, Unity Trust Bank and Triodos. It would be worthwhile hopping over to their sites to see what they can offer.
